Here are a new batch of life drawings and demonstrations from my classes at Watts Atelier. A new session starts up on Monday with spots still available in many of the classes.

Hey man awesome stuff. I have two questions, what's the real life size of your figure drawings and do you scan them in or take pictures?

Hey Julie, Thanks

My life drawings are done on 18 x 24 smooth newsprint, and I photograph them.

Hey Erik!

only charcoal pencil, right?
no blender, fingers or other things..
do you use just pencil strokes?

tell me your techniques in a few words..

thanks

On these I did use just charcoal pencil, but I do use some smudging. I use my fingers, and it is very deliberate and minimal. I try not to just smudge, it is generally more like a single brush stroke with my thumb.

i love your style. im doing some art a level and have never had a proper art teacher, your work is great because your style is really individual, did you teach yourself? ive only had a little practice drawing figures so i had to research for inspiration.

your work is defo one of my inspirations, it looks like you design album covers or something :)

Goroundthebend,
Thanks for your kind words. I am not self taught, I was mainly trained at Watts Atelier, the same school I now teach at. You can check it out at www.wattsatelier.com
